11-19-24   THOUGHTS  

Nothing is more fundamental than our reading this morning.  1.  GOD IS LOVE   2.   IF GOD SO LOVED US!  1Cor 13:3   “And if I give all my possessions to feed [the poor,] and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.”   We must be thrilled to abide in God, through His Spirit given to us.  Joy, and zeal and loving diligence should abound in us as dear children.   The Church should prosper in this environment. Not as “Organized Religion”, but as “fire in the belly” believers!   Rejoice in the Lord!  

1John 4:7-13    Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  8  The one who does not love does not know God, for God is love.  9  By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him.  10  In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.  11  Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12  No one has seen God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us.  13  By this we know that we abide in Him and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

My Prayer:
O Father God, thank You for being love, and for making us the object of Your great love.  With great rejoicing, we smile as we discover more and more of Your love.  It is everywhere by Your design, sustaining Your awesome creation.  May  we continually abide in You through Your Spirit, given in love.  In Jesus’ name,   Amen.
